The work starts with prep: degreasing, filling, sanding, masking, and priming. Then come the coats, with drying time between them, light sanding, and a final inspection under a lamp. Spray work adds gun setup, overlap control, and keeping the gun perpendicular to a curved surface while walking around it.
A head camera records the brush or gun and the surface from the painter's point of view. Fixed cameras in the booth or shop record the arm sweep and body position, synchronized. We record whole shifts in operating furniture restoration shops, factories, and finishing booths in five countries.
Researchers receive episodes per piece or per coat, with steps labeled in plain language and tagged success or failure. A run or a holiday in the finish is marked. Hand and tool tracking is optional. Delivery goes to your storage account in your chosen format, with acceptance rates attached. Workers signed consent and were compensated, so there are no rights questions when you train on this.
