Hair Cutting, Blow-Dry or Styling

Shears, comb, and a section of wet hair held at a specific angle between two fingers. A haircut is hundreds of these small actions, each one informed by how the previous section fell. The stylist reads the head shape, the growth pattern, and the client's description, and adjusts constantly. Blow-drying adds a round brush and tension that changes by hair type. This is dexterous manipulation of a deformable material on a moving person.

The head-mounted camera records what the stylist watches: the section line, the cutting angle, the elevation, the point cutting at the ends, and the check in the mirror. For blow-drying and styling, it captures the brush and dryer moving together, the flat iron pass, and the product being worked in. Fixed cameras at the station give a third-person view of body position and the client's head movement, synchronized to the head camera.

Footage comes from working salons during real appointments. That means consultations, mid-cut adjustments, and the client turning to talk, all of which a model has to handle.

A typical hair cutting, blow-dry or styling episode, cut into the steps your labels attach to.

We segment each appointment into an episode with steps like "section hair", "cut guide", "blend", "blow-dry section", and "finish", tagged for success or failure. Hand and tool tracking are optional. We hand the data over in your structure, into your storage, with acceptance rates per batch. Stylists and clients are consented and paid, and footage is cleared for commercial model training.
